Valorant Patch Notes 13.01 – RiftZone

Valorant Patch 13.01 landed on July 14, and it's a lighter patch focused on agent tuning, one weapon adjustment, and a genuinely significant announcement about ranked integrity. Here's everything that actually changed.

Iso and Yoru Buffs

Iso gets a quality-of-life fix: re-equipping your weapon after unequipping Double Tap is now instant, removing an awkward delay that punished switching out of the ability early.

Yoru picks up two changes. Gatecrash's active beacon duration jumps from 15 to 20 seconds, giving you more time to actually use the teleport window. Fakeout also got a small fix to match Yoru's fantasy better — decoy clones now carry whatever weapon Yoru had equipped last, instead of always defaulting to his strongest gun, making them read as more convincing decoys.

Outlaw Adjustment

Riot called out Outlaw specifically as performing strongly, and this patch reins in its follow-up shots rather than its initial punch. After the first shot, the sniper now has real recovery time, spread, and recoil — all three of which were previously zero. In practice, that means Outlaw keeps its one-shot power but loses some of its ability to fire a second immediately accurate follow-up shot, adding a real skill gap to using it aggressively.

Rank Manipulation Penalties Are Coming

This is the biggest non-agent change in the patch. Riot has rolled out new detection tools for rank manipulation — building on similar systems already used in League of Legends — and will begin actually issuing penalties for confirmed cases, including account suspensions, rank reversions, and reversed ranked rewards. Players will also start seeing in-game feedback when someone in their match gets penalized for it. If you've been boosting or getting boosted, Riot's making clear this is the patch where enforcement actually starts.

Discord Integration (PC, Rolling Out July 21)

Valorant is adding direct Discord integration on PC: link your accounts to invite friends to your party straight from Discord, share a lobby link directly in a server, and see which Discord friends are currently playing. It already rolled out as a beta in Brazil and goes live globally on July 21.

Notable Bug Fixes

Riot closed an ability-charge exploit that let Clove, Skye, and Miks gain an extra charge of their abilities during the buy phase by purchasing and reselling charges — worth knowing if you relied on that. Also fixed: Reyna's Dismiss occasionally leaving her unable to re-equip a weapon, Jett being able to trigger Cloudburst mid-animation with certain keybinds, and a Split map bug where Iso could survive the falling door crush event.
